functial air scoop

i was on car domain and i saw a stang that took out the plastic air scoop and put in a coustom screen. he says it kinda works like the mach 1 ram air and helps vent out the heat from the engine. but how would it do anything if it doesent connect to the engine and why wouldent ford do it if it did somthing? http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2042266 its the 4th pic down.

hahaha so funny, my IQ went down.

Yeah its functional..I did some custon work on my car..i drilled holes all ever my hood and steam came out of each hole cause it was making the engine cooler and then also it added air into the engine and dynoed me from 160 to 200. I cant post dyno results cause my scanner is down.....

well maybe everyone had that idea at one point. i know i thought bout it once too. but more because i just didnt like the idea of the fake scoops. well i can say that know im lucky enough to have been enlighted with the knoledge that "ram air" and cutting a hole on ur hood is bs
