I am not sure how this works but I will just tell the problems and hope someone can HELP!!
Ok, When stopped at a light my air conditioner would start blowing warm and then my temparature guage would start to rise. The radiator was just flushed at the beg. of this year so I took it to a shop. After hooking up the machine they told me It was an Expansion Valve and fixing that would fix my problems. They did a dye injection, evacuate and recharge of A/C and repalaced 2 Evaporator Expansion Valves and 2 Expansion valves. I left the shop with a 900.00 bill and the problems were not fixed. If anyone has any ideas...PLEASE HELP :banghead:

I dont know if this has anything to do with your specific problem, but have you checked to see if your fan for the a/c (and as far as that goes the engine fan) is working properly? That would be my first thought on the overheating problem.

The A/C switching to warm is a feature. When the engine is overheating the Idle speed is increased, the Cooling Fans go to MAX and the A/C is shut off.
Fix the overheating and the A/C will be fine. If you had a recent Radiator Flush, I would have the cooling system checked for air in the system first. Sounds like you have a large air bubble in the cooling system. Make sure you have the correct coolant also. A lot of shops will put in what they have instead of what is supposed to be used. When you are overheating, you should notice the Fan noise, since the fans should be spinning at full power. If they are not, you should have that looked into. Sounds like you got ripped off with the A/C repair. Use a shop that knows something about the inerworking of the van rather than one the just attacks symtoms instead of solving problems. I would ask for my money back.

That is why so many people try to fix their A/C problems theirselves instead of going to a shop. The mechanics and experts scream bloody murder when they hear of a novice trying to work on A/C systems but when you get ripped off a couple of times or just plain overcharged for what work a shop does do, it forces people into trying it for themselves.

(Putting away soapbox) ;)

I had this same problem. It turned out to be a bad radiator fan relay that was preventing the radiator fans from working at all. Once I replaced the relay (very easy), the fans now work and the A/C is fine...no overheating problems. Check to see if the radiator fans are functioning at all...
