For scale models the brand I like most is Bburago. Its not the most expensive brand, but from what I've seen they have the best range.

I've got a really nice 1/18 scale F40, that I've had for years and it still looks good, and lots of the little small ones they make (the budget ones)

Yeah but a dicast board is a good idea

Bburago is probably one of the worst manufacturers. But also the cheapest.

I can say about 1/43 scale cars. The best are BBR :) followed by Minichamps. The latter has a huge range of models. Mattel How Wheels are also quite nice and inexpensive. I also like models by an Italian company called Bang. For example, their Ferrari 348 models have brake didks that are actually drilled! Very nice interior as well.

You can see a part of my collection h e r e (http://www.hot.ee/bls/143collection.html) Can't update the page because I don't have access to a digital camera.

I don't know about you but here in Toronto hobby shops, AutoArt seems to be the most dominant. Bburago would be found in toy stores like Toys R Us or Walmart.

Autoart seems to be best for me. They come with engine, doors, very good detailed interiors. Kind of expensive here though.

Autoart does mostly imports and that always interests me. Not much of a domestic fan. :finger: :flipa: :finger:

By far the *cheapest* and crappiest is Maisto...it's next to impossible to detail them.

I collect 1:18 scale cars. As an avid collector, with about 120 cars total, I'd say at the top of my list of makers would have to be:

AutoArt
Maisto
UT
GMP
Mattel(But not to highly)
Anson
Exoto
Ertl

These are some of them. Burago, I really don't care for as their attention to detail really lacks. I don't think they put a lot of effort, unlike some, to engine detail and other things. They could learn from AutoArt and Maisto.
