hood light

Hey friends....

I got this proble with the light under the hood. It turns on / off frequently depending on how open is the hood. Diference inthe opnening of few inches make the light to turn off... of course when the hood is open to the standards position, the light turns off.

So.. where's the switch for this light located... and how to acces it?

The hood light switch is a mercury switch. Much like the inside of an older thermostat in the house. It's a little glass tube sealed with a small glob of liquid metal (mercury) and when the hood is tilted the metal runs to the end with the contacts, completing the circuit. These need to be in just the right position (logic should dictate) and Yours has probably gotten turned somehow, but finding it is easy...it should be right next to the LIGHT lol. with the hood open, loosen the bolt holding the assembly and align the tube to make gravity work like it should!
