exhaust silencer

If i install a performance exhaust on my vehicle, it's going to get louder, i don't like loud vehicles unless they're muscle cars or really cool so i'd like something that i could put in my exhaust or something to make it quiet but take it off if i go racing. does anyone know of something like this? I really don't want to have a loud car because it gets annoying especially on long trips.

Just have a Y installed, have it flow though one side and cap the other side, when you want it to be lould uncap it.

there are cast iron exaust valves...but hten you have to find room for 2 exaust systems...
there are cone type scilenders (look sort of like spark arrestors for dirt bikes) that yo ucan put in your tail pipe but i dont know how well they work, some mufflers have scilendcers you can remove to "tune" the sound of your vehicle...my friends tiburon has a muffler that does this.

Try using a supertrapp muffler.
In about 30 sec you can go from quiet to loud and free flowing.
