okay, i got off work around 1:30am from best buy. i was on the On ramp to the interstate when a boxtruck braked on the ramp(??). i went to brake and my back tire hit somethin slik and it made me go straight into some lovely dew covered grass. i fishtailed twice before i was dumped at 40mph onto the grass(i slid some 25ft). a coworker saw me and ran to me. we got the bike up and i got it started after it unflooded. i was sore but i made it home(40 miles) and into bed. my gf made me go to the hospital during the day to get checked out. it turns out that i had broken my clavical(collar bone) in two places. now im in a sling for six weeks :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: .
turns out that if im not careful the fragment could dislodge and cut one of my arteries killing me(i know i have awsome luck).

As for damage to my baby:
-windscreen snapped off
-front left turn signal ripped out
-upper front cowl misaligned (perhaps some mounts were damaged??
-shifter bent down and now it looks like a friggin limp weener :disappoin
-scratch on gas tank from going over top of tank

yeah, the rear tire can be tricky sometimes, that's why I try not to use the rear brake on a lean. and it has slipped a few times for me.

all things considered, the bike can be fixed easily, but watch that collar bone. lets not undermine doctor's orders. good luck and get well fast.

gimp here again, i ordered some of the parts i needed to fix up my bike (typing w/ one hand is hrd)

-flush mount turn signals
-cool grim reaper tank pad
-smoked windscreen made by Speedscreen

i still need to replace the shifter....any good sources??

i also think that the upper front fairing isn't lined up right.mounting damaged or frame???? it makes it look like my bars are pointing a lil to left when bike is straight... help.

I did nearly the same thing about a month ago, but I hit a F*cking stop sign with my leg...broken femur and totally screwed up my ankle ("Bunch" of broken bones according to doc). I can almost walk again, but that rear tire is scary.

The rear brake on a sportbike is damn near useless unless you go agricultural or are stopping on gravel.

As for your damage, it's hard to say without seeing it, but it sounds like maybe the forks spun in the triple a bit.
