I dont recall anyone ever talking about these...
How do you figure out whats the best gear ratios for your application? I figure that weight of the vehicle, and the hp/TQ have to come into some sorta formula probably matched somewhere with speed... but I got NO idea. Anyone want to explain how to figure out if a gear is too "tall" or "short" -- how to figure the best final drive gear ratio???

Is their a way to change the ratios on a Civic (particularly a D16). I would love a "short" first, second, third, and fourth with an even wider fifth, but no one can seem to tell me where to find replacement gears.

Ex trannies have short gears, and CXandVX (especially 92-95ones ) have long gears. Take EX trans and CX trans take apart and take 4th ang5th out of CX an put it in your EX one. That will allow you to have pretty good drag races, and still have low highway speed RPMs.
thats the best way i know to do it, or at least the cheapest way. The Cx trannies are dirt cheap.

I am going to be putting in a cx tranny only because I am going to be having a turbo and those are best with the turbo apps.

I dont know how well the tranny would take the extra power that a turbo motor would make. Although the stock EX trans can handle JRSC w/o problems, i hope the same is for CX.

Here's what to do.
1:Go play GT3 and change the gears around til you get what you want.
2: Then you call up Quaife and give them $3000 to make you some special custom gears exactly how you want.
