I got a parking ticket today. I thought I was parked in a 15 min. zone, but it turns out it was a no parking zone. Its only $40, but what should I do? I know its a non moving violation so it doesn't affect my insurance or anything, but does it go on my record? Luckily its cheap so I can afford it.

Unless you can come up with a better story than that, I would just pay it. :)

It will not be attatched to your record. In canada at least, and it makes sense for everywhere, parking tickets are issued to the owner of the car, and will be associated with the plates rather than the person. so essentially, you can take your parents car, park across three handicapped spots, rip up the ticket, and your folks will be responsible because the one issuing the ticket has no way of knowing who parked the car.

That's odd, try not writing your license number and see what happens, worst case scenario, they call and ask for it, best case, they take your money and you continue on with your life.
