need help with Computer

Ok when i boot my computer up, all these unnecessary programs startup in the backround and its pissing me off
i have XP pro, but i used to know a command to put in RUN and it would let me select what i wanted to run when i booted up, anyone know this command? or maybe know a different way to help this
becuase when i want to use my computer for something that makes my computer work at all, i gotta reboot, open the task manager and close all the programs

goto the magical run box, and type in msconfig
msconfig fixes all! :)

yea thats the command i was looking for, but my freind gave me the command about 10min before u got to my thread ;)

we're looking to eliminate programs on start-up not fuck the disk and start all oevr.
