90 Eclipse GS overheating

Fans are not kicking on. This is about all I know. I have tried replacing the relay, but that didn't work.

Some one has suggested trying to see if they will run by connecting them straight to the battery, is this wise?

Any other thoughts for the love of god please?

I can not afford new fans.
