If you have a fire and you open the hood and leave it open, it just makes the fire bigger because it lets more oxygen in.

Well I've only heard of two people with Camaro's that have had thier engine catch on fire, one of them took the blanket out for weight savings, the other who kept it said it worked well and smothered the flames. This was on a Camaro specific forum though...

I know this is old, but it brought back some bad memories. My crx caught fire after it detonated at 80mph and I managed to coast to a church parking lot. I didn't lift up the hood and managed to keep the fire contained to underneath the chassis. I did NOT have NAWWWWWWWWWWS either. Geeze some people need to lighten up. But, in case you were wondering (and I know you were) I'm not all that partial to the Asian import scene, and I think drifting is pointless. My true automotive love is European Supercars. On average they are faster, better looking, and better handling than anything else on the road. Plus they cost a king's ransom so you don't see them on every street corner with some joker of a grease monkey overspraying his car and frying the thing as he's trying to race a 4 wheeler.
