ok im new to this but been looking for an answer and have yet to find one lets see if any body knows the answer to this one i just bought a 98 gst eclipse and i cant get it to crank it will turn over and all four spark plugs are getting fire and the number 1 and 2 injectors are working but the other two are not i changed the ecu out thinking that this was the problem to an 95 eprom and change the plug wires around i also changed the cam sensor the timing is good and the ecu works also checked the wires there good also the ecu just wont send a signal to them. i know what you are going to say the ecu is shot but if i unplug the cam sensor all the injectors start working and then the number 2 and 3 plugs stop working. OH im getting good fuel presure :banghead:

I would have also suspected a bad injector driver in the ECU I think... The fact that it works when the CAS is unplugged is officially odd. I don't know enough to be able to provide a solution or even the next step. But I have a feeling this is going to be some bizarre wiring issue. A short with the cas wiring perhaps.

the only thing i can add is that the ecu box wasnt grounded when i first tryed to crank it with the new ecu could this have missed the eprom up

okay i think i have narrowed it down to the timing. the timing is perfect mechanicly but for some reason its not firing on the right cyl when its at top dead center is it possible for the crank sensor to be out of line or bad with out it going completely out. i have already checked and i`ve got the plug wires switched like it says to for the 95 ecu. but it still wont crank getting fuel pressure and spark but only the 1 and 2 injectors are working. also can the cam sensor gear be on backwards it will got both ways. im getting 4.1 volts on the signal wire from both sensors. :screwy:

That actually sounds like the problem I'm having now that I've taken mine to a mechanic. Only the first two injectors aren't working so he says. He said the ecu wasn't sending a signal to them. So I bought an ecu from a used car (I didn't have 1200 for a new one..) and it is doing the same thing. Now when I am driving I can tell the injectors are kicking in because it will push as hard as it usually would. It's like it is missing really bad. The mechanic told me to trade that computer in for a different one so I guess I will unless anyone has any suggestions.

i think i have solved my problem i wont be sure until i get the new ecu in next week but it has to be somthing with the ecu and the timing because its prefect mechanicly. i pulled the head and checked the crank sensor and the timing and the wiring its all in perfect working order. only thing left is the ecu and i have been told that some of the 95 ecu`s have to be flashed and reprogrammed to match your vin number so the anti-theft and the cam sensor in the newer model doesn`t conflict with the newer model car. at least i hope that is all it is because if isn`t im going to have a lot of new parts up for sale.

if you found out what the problem is could you please tell me, i got the same problem. I bought a new ECU and it didnt work either. I also replaced the injector resistor pack to and that wasnt it. I DONT KNOW PLEASE HELP.

RULE NUMBER 1... Don't ever bring back old posts unless their yours! Last post in this thread was 08-20-2005..... You will hear many complaints about this. Make a new thread stating your problem, and the you seen this post and you've tried and it still hasn't worked. Don't bring back the dead, just link to it.

This thread will get locked as soon as a mod (which should be me) gets to it.

Is this a new rule that I missed?

I would actually think that bringing back an old post that contains the same problem would be a good thing as opposed to starting 30 different threads about the same problem. Kindof keeps everything consolidated.

I'm not trying to step on toes or anything.....just wondering. :)

nope, this has been an understood rule since I've been here. Typically, threads over a week old are left alone, unless the original poster has another issue or updates on the topic.

Even people who are having the same issue are expected to start themselves a new thread. It is however, expected of them to search for their problem in the past threads first.
