Taking advantage of 100 octane fuel?

Hi, I have a 97 Elantra GLS 1.8 with 151000 kms. In my country high octane fuel (100 octanes) costs almost the same as low octane (87). Is there any way to program the ECU to take advantage of the extra power on 100 octane fuel? Theoretically the MPG and the torque should go up considerably.

In my Cirrus it is possible to reprogram the ECU for high octane fuel at the dealer.

87 octane fuel near me is up at almost $3.25/gallon. I can't imagine how much 100 octane is. Where are you getting 100 octane fuel from anyway? lol. Only place I know of around me to get 100 octane fuel is an airport and that is 100LL (100 Octane Low Lead) which, obviously has lead in it which isn't good for cars w/ catalytic converters (or so I was told).

My country uses the RON unit to measure octanage. I think the US uses CLC (average of MON and RON).

These are the approximate gasoline prices in Argentina (per liter, unleaded)
Premium (97 to 100 RON) ... USD 0.69
Super (93-95 RON) ... USD 0.66
Regular (85-87 RON) ... USD 0.62
Diesel (55 RON) ... USD 0.54

We also have CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) which costs USD 0.27 per cubic meter. My car is dual (unleaded gasoline and CNG) and a liter of gasoline gives about the same milleage of a m3 of CNG.

Using CNG has lots of cons (higher combustion temperature, less lubrication than gasoline, you lose part of your trunk to install the conversion kit, cost of the conversion kit, low MPT (miles per tank), incompatibility with some ECUs due to the complexity of sensor emulation, but it's definitely very popular due to its low cost. BTW, NCG has much cleaner combustion than gasoline.
