License plate ?

Okay on the rear of my car i have no place to put the plate since its aftermarket. I was thinking about just screwing it in to the bumper like so.

BUT i wont have a way to light it up. do you think i will get hassled by cops?

I tyring to find something i can use to light up the plate right now though.

Anyone have any ideas how i can light it up?

I would recess it into it then mount a light like the factory one. If you want to just slap it on like that they make bolts that have lights built into one side of them that shine down onto the plates- use them on street rods alot. You could also recess it into the middle taillight reflector thing a ma bob.

if you live in az the cops will pull you over right away without a lite on your plates

yeah...i was looking at those light up bolts but they didnt seem to light up that much...maybe they do i dunno..

you can get a license plate frame with a light built onto it. i have one for my sonoma cause of the roll pan i have installed.

about driving without plate lights: my other car (MR2) had some wiring issues that kept blowing the taillight fuse and I drove it maybe 2 months without plate lights or taillights markers etc before I got a warning from the cops... but then I fixed it asap because the law doesn't seem to like me :S
as for the lighting, go to the wrecker and find a pair of light housings that can screw right into the bumper and stick out about an inch or so, and wire them in parallel with your taillights and that will fix the problem. You might even find generic new ones at the cheap auto parts stores where you live...
