I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 5.2 4x4. When I get on the freeway and accelerate It feels sluggish and doesnt have the acceleration power it use to have. I changed the air filter, plugs , and sprayed the carb out with cleaner. any other suggestions?

Did you just put larger tires on?

Does the power loss come at higher rpms?

Any throttle irregularities?

I did put new tires on, but they are the same size as I had before, but yes they are oversize It is at higher RPM's.

With the larger tires, your engine is working harder to turn them, and your acceleration will suffer. Your speedo will also be off. Check out this site to do a comparison:

Not sure if this post is active still, but you might want to have a look at your catalytic converter. Often times when it starts to get older, pieces break off and get clogged in the exhaust piping. This will cause you to lose power, and probably not be able to get rpms over a certain amount. Good luck with your issue.
