Anyone here watch that show Taps on scifi? Did you see the one tonight about the battle ship missouri? That was just a freak episode that reminded me about some of the weird things ive had happen in my life, like unexplained.

Ok just to tell you about my current house, we bought it an older couple. About a month before we moved in the lady died in the house. Yeah thats a little freaky. But some really weird things have happened in this house.

This one time when i was about 13, we had been in the house for about a year or so. Anways we (my family) my mother and 2 brothers came home at like 8PM to eat. Anways the house was really quiet and so was our dinner, one of those family meals where no one really talks and you hear everything. Anways were in the kitchen and we hear a creecking noise come from the upstrairs. Well its an older house, built in the 1950's-60's so at first we just shrugged it off as the house settling or just being a bit older. Then it happened again, like 30 seconds later. IT was like a creek creek that would be caused when someone is walking around and there a creeky part in the floor. Again we shrugged it off, a little more uneasy this time. THen again it happened, by now we were all getting a little spooked. We joked around that it was the elder lady that died in the house. But it kept happening, like someone was pacing around in our upstairs. So finally after about a minute of it, i look at my family and everybodies face is just white, then instantly we all jump and run out of the house to a friends place. We werent sure if it was someone who broke into the house or not, but we knew someone/thing was moving around upstairs. It was to much creecking, and not just stationary creeking, like creeks in different parts of the upstairs. So went to our friends and got a few people to come back with us to check the house out. We searched the whole upstairs, couldnt find anything. All the windows were closed and locked (AC was on). No sign that anyone forced there way into the house or anything like that. But it was enough to make me, my 2 brothers and my mother run out of the house terrified.

Now all 3 of my brothers have admitted to hearing other odd noises. I dont leave the door to the basement open for one reason, its the same reason my brothers wont leave it open. When the house is quiet and your home alone you can hear really abnormal sounds coming from the basement. We all have described it as someone pushing boxes around. We have alot of boxes in the basement, most are cardboard. Filled with useless junk. We also have a tile floor in the basement, kinda dirty like an unfinished tile basement floor would be like. If you have a basement like this you know what im talking about. When you slide a box across the floor it makes a very distinct sound. You can hear the box sliding over all the small pieces of dirty, dust, and things like that. Anways thats the sound my brothers and I always heard coming from the basement when home alone. Like someone was slidding a box around. Ive many times ran down to the basement after hearing it and seen nothing and the noise stops. I go back upstairs and like 5 mins later i would hear it again.

Also i never told my GF about any of that, atleast not at first. But she always tells me how uneasy she feels in my house. Like she literally wont stay by herself alone in a room, even if im in the other room. She gets really tense and scared.

Anyone else have any other odd or unusual things happen to them?

Well we bought this house about 10 years ago brand new so i never thought about ghost in it. Well about 6 years later my uncle died of a drug overdose. Well a couple of weeks later me my dad were eating dinner and talking about my uncle and my dad was saying how he comes down and checks on us. I said no thats b.s and disagreed with him for about 5 mins and then we heard a thump from my dads room. We walk in there and in his bathroom was his cell phone laying in th floor. The fuck up thing about it was that he the type of charger that leans back and it rest in there. thats my only ghost story

D'oh! This thread made me turn the lights on. :lol2:

I have a kinda wierd story. I was in new york, driving with my mom on some very very dark creepy backroads upstate. I looked at the window, up the road, and in the headlights I could make out someone standing on the side of the road. I swear there was a person there. I watched them for about half a second, then I blinked, and they were gone.

Anyways, I have had friends that have been attacked by demons and such. They had eyewitnesses too. Like the nerdy kind that refuse to lie about anything. Creepy stuff :eek7:

Well since im always alone in my house I hear all types of stuff, like REALLY f-ed up stuff too. My house is old, it was built in 52.. so thats old. Well anyways like many times i'll be just sitting here where I am right now, now where I sit at is in the VERY corner of the house, like my chair is in the corner of my room and my room is on the corner of the house obviously, well I got 2 windows, one to my right and one on my back and sometimes like me and my friends will be just chilling, playing games or something then we hear like a big BOOM like if something just fell and it comes from like between the walls and always scares the crap out of anybody. It literally sounds like a person falling and its like right next to where I sit at so you can imagine me..

Also I always think that there's something there in my kitchen, like theres a hallway that leads from the kitchen, to a middle room straight to my room and whenever all the lights are off it kinda reflects lights from my room to the kitchen and it ALWAYS looks like something is there, standing looking back at you. VERY SCARY

Oh yeah, btw EC, im right there with ya buddy on the light turning on stuff.

My friend who knew Dimebag Derrell, he like took lessons from him because they were close friends, well we were talking about stuff like this and he says his house is haunted too, like he said he's just sleeping, then he wakes up, looks around and sees the closet door like barely opend and then close immediatly like someone was there, obviously he gets up with a knife to look for someone there and nothing.. and he says that he's heard many sounds from the kitchen like a big BAM like if someone just fell to the ground and once again nothing.. hope you guys sleep well tonight! :p

when i was young i had lots of scary experiences. Almost every night i'd wake up and ALL of my covers would be ripped off the bed, so I'd be laying there completey helpless and shocked. One night waking up in this condition I saw a man walk across my bedroom... I said, "dad?" out loud.. and the man turned and looked at me but kept walking. The next day i asked my dad if it was him, but he didn't know what i was talking about.

another time i woke up and this fuzzy mist was beside my bed... just kinda floating around infront of me.. i looked at it for a few minutes then dozed back off to sleep.. i woke up maybe an hour later, and the mist was across the hall, infront of my parents bed.

after these experiences, i feared bedtime more than anything... my parents had to fight me to get me up those stairs. Since then I've always slept with my covers tucked over my head..

I hear noises all the time in my house that we moved into about 3 years ago. I think it's just because the people that built it never really knew what they were doing. At first it really freaked me out at night, like to the point I'd walk around the house with a bat and a bowie (sp?) knife. Now that we have our dog and he's not a puppy it doesn't scare me at all because if it was a person he would go completely fucking ballistic and rip them apart. Ghosts don't really freak me out...I'm more afraid of a real person (that I don't know) being in my house...

My moms old house was built in 1903, lol. Saw ghosts a lot, actually.

One was a little boy that you'd see crouched in a random corner. He never moved, he'd just appear there, crouched, then disappear.

There was also an old man who walked the upstairs hallway at night. He'd check on us. You know, look in the rooms and what not. If something wasn't right though, he'd wake up the oldest one...which was freaky as hell (even though you knew what it was) cause he'd shake your bed. He never said anything though.

There was another one, I'd never seen, but he talked. I'd be home alone and hold complete conversations with him. Never learned his name though. He "forgot" it.

Then we had a demon. Well, I say demon. You'd be laying in bed, then a shadow would swoop up over you and just float there. You couldn't move a muscle. You couldn't move your eyes, your jaws, nothing, couldn't even breathe. That sucked.

My buddies and I used to go ghost hunting. Josh and I went into a 2 story house. I went to the second story, went to cross a room and fell through the floor. It sucked, twisted my ankle on landing, but nothing major. Anyways, Josh heard this noise and went running upstairs. I tried to chase him and tell him to watch out for the hole. When I was about halfway up the stairs, I hear him fall through. He didn't break or sprain anything though. I called him a dumbass for falling in my hole. He claimed there was no hole. You could look up and see through it! It didn't make sense. We went upstairs (I hobbled) and went to the room again. From downstairs we saw the hole, from upstairs there was no hole. We went back downstairs to the room below, and there was no hole. We left.

I live in an old small abandoned mill village in a house that was built in 1896... so that's old. My wife and I call it the Monster Mansion. Needless to say, it's falling to crap and isn't worth renovating. But we always here creaking sounds. When I first met my wife and she worked at night, I'd be chilling there alone, reading for school and it would be all quiet and then I'd hear some pretty damn weird sounds. I was always like how can a house over 100 years old still be settling. I know that ambient temperatures cause the wood to react and flex but it was pretty damn scary sometimes. There may have been small mice in the walls or whatever, even in some of y'all's places too, but to make such loud sounds just doesn't make sense. Anyway, we have a cat now so she scares all the ghosts away... :icon16:

EDIT: The post above ^ is scaring me...

Anyone ever tell you that you talk like a 13 year old girl?
Sorry... couldn't resist.

Don't believe in ghosts myself. That's not to say that they don't exist, but I've never seen one, and I firmly believe that any "strange" noises I've ever heard in any house (regardless how old), were 100% explainable.

Ok the first thing I remember was when I was about 5 or 6. I was laying in my bed and for some reason I was thinking about ghost and deamons. It was totaly dark, no windows in my room. I was thinking what would a ghost look like? about 5 munits goes by Just as I stopped wandering something grabbed my leg. It hurt and it scared the heack out of me. Mind you we had no animals in the house that could have done it. I yelled out and my mom came in the room. I told her what happened, she looked at my leg and there was red marks. The next day I had a bruse in that spot. To this day I sleep with the covers tucked in tightely around my legs. Then not too long after that, me and my brother were in the back yard playing around this old shed. My mom has always told us to stay away from there. Well me and my brother was playing when we herd this mans voice telling us to get away. There was no one around. So we kept on. Then again we herd it, but more firm. We got kinda spooked so we went to the other side of the yard. A few hours later the shed collapsed. We told our mom about the voice and she told us that we that we were talking to the people in our heads again. I dont think she belived us. Then I was about 8 (in the same house) I was sharing a room with my new born sister. I had a bunk bed and I slept on top. I woke up late at night with goose bumps like someone was watching me. I flipped over on my back and I seen this woman by my ceeling. She was in all black. She had long dark hair, and long nails. She was reaching out to me with her arms. I know that it was not sleep paralysis cuz I could move and speek. I said what do you want. I was scared but I did not know what else to do. She never answered me. She just stood there reaching. Finaly I couldent take it any more and I called for my dad. When I did she came closer, So I yelled really loud. My dad came running in the room, flipped on the light and started shaking me. The hole time I could see her, even with the light on. Finaly she disappeared. Just vanished. My dad told me it was my imiganation. I know what I saw was real. For weeks I was afraid to go in that room. I wouldent even look in there if I could help it. I had several things of that nature happen. My family always laughed at me and told me that it was the people in my head, my imiganery friends. I may be crazy, but I dont think so. My mom went so far as to have me talk to a shrink. They showed me the blob pictures and every thing. They told my mom I was fine. When I was 13, we moved to another town. That house seemed fine for a while. About a year and nothing. Then me and my sister shared a room. Both of us would see things out of the corner of our eyes all the time. There was a spirit that we called Hermen. He was not bad. He was a jokester. He liked to mess with me and my sister. early one morning I was lying awake in the bed, my door opened and my dad told me to get ready for school. I did my routine, hair, clothes, ect. Went in the living room and looked at the clock. It said 4:00 am. Now I am wandering why my dad got me up this early. Usualy he did not get us up till around 6 . Just then my dad comes out of his room and tells me to go back to bed. I asked why, you just told me to get up. He said he did no such thing. I go back to my room. My sister was in a panic looking at the ceeling. There was a dark blure thing over her. I yelled go away. Grabbed my sister and went in the front room. We went in there a few munits later and there was nothing there. In that house the cabnet doors would slam shut if they were left open. Cups would fall of the counter if they were left out. Years go by with this stuff happing, when we decide to move to east Texas. A few years go by with nothing, just the ocasional spotting of someone or something. Till we move in an old victorian home. You could be sitting in the living room with no one up stairs and you would here a woman scream in terror. There was a small door Kinda like a crawl space. You would here children crying in there. This went on for a few years. Again we moved, same town, different home. Nothing really happened there. After I got married me and my husband had a home built in the country. I always thaught new homes would have no hauntings. I was wrong. My home is around 3 years old. About 6 months after we settled in our home, I begain to see things out the corner of my eye. I just blew them off as nothing. Themm one night around 3:30 I couldent sleep. I looked up and seen this boy around the age of 11 or 12 walking at the foot of my bed. He was dressed in a huck finn style clothing. That is the best way I can describe them. I watched him go from 1 end of my room to the other then vanish. He never looked at me. A few months later my parents were having troubles and moved in with us. After a few weeks my mom cames up to me and asked me if I had seen that boy in the house. I never told her what I had seen. Finaly she believed me. I still see him sometimes. Mostly I feel him here. My 5 year old daughter now tells me that she hears people talking and when she tells them to stop they wont unless she ask them nice to please stop. Hell yeah ghost are real!!!!!!!!

karma beats me......

I was out with some friends partying behind an orchard and "the haunted tracks", we were waiting for some ghosts to show up or something. All of a sudden, this car was flying down the side of the orchard towards us. We jumped into our vehicles and gunned it (i ended up in back drivin my bronco). I watched the car get on my bumper in less than 5 seconds around a curve. My buddies were stuck facing backwards watching these BRIGHT headlights chasing us. Went around another curve and the headlights just DISAPPEARED! They couldn't have turned onto another road because there was ditch on one side and orchard on the other. We stopped, figuring they flew into the ditch. Nope. Not in the orchard either. No one saw a "car", only headlights. We never went back to the haunted tracks after that....it was too freaky.

i got another one, at first i wasnt going to say anything cause i was younger when it happened, thats not really all to credible but anyways.

This happened in my old house, i was about 7-8 at the time. Around this time i had an uncle who was killed while hunting. Some drunk hunter shot him and left him to die in the woods. Anways around that time is when i started to see something odd.

It always started out of the corner of my eye, in the middle of a wall a face would appear. It wasnt a very detailed face, the whoe face was just made up of dark brown thin lines. But the face was familiar. Skinny with long shoulder length hair, just like my uncle had. As soon as i would start to see it, it would just be imerging from the wall, it would slowly emerg to form a whole head and would turn and look at me. At that point i would run out of the room, and when i came back it would be gone.

That whole subconscious idea is cancelled out by that fact. How do you explain my falling through the floor then the floor being repaired? Just because you've never seen something for yourself doesnt mean it cant happen. Now that i think of it, when i was little i was always scared of my grandmas basement. It doesnt matter if it was day time/night time, lights on or off. I was always scared to go downstairs. I remember one time i opened the door during the day and there is a window that allows light to shine right at the bottom of the steps. I looked down and seen a bigger type man walking up the stairs right at me. scared the living shit out of me, i slammed the door and ran into the kitchen where everyone else was. They all thought i was crazy.

heh, I've had a few weird experiences.

Once when I was 3, I was outside playing... well, I looked over by this fence, and I saw my uncle waving at me.. so I waved back. Didn't think anything of it.

Only thing was.. my uncle was dead.

One night, I was sleeping in my bed (the haunted room in the house) and I heard footsteps in the kitchen.. I could see the kitchen from where I was so I leaned up and peeked in and saw black legs stroll by.. I thought it was my dad getting a drink of water, so I waited.. and waited.. 10 minutes went by and absolutely nothing.

Once, me and my cousin were playing around with a oujia board in my room. My cats stayed in my room. (cats can sense ghosts.. supposedly..) well, we asked if there were any spirits around.. it started moving towards yes, and all the cats bolted from out behind my bed and started going ballistic on the door trying to get out.

Prior to that house being torn down in lieu of a new one, I had always had an uneasy feeling in it at night.. like someone was behind me trying to sneak up on me.

Then it got tore down.. new house put up.. and now I still have that feeling. The guest room I refuse to go in when its dark.. I just get an uneasy feeling from it. It feels like.. somethings in there.. all the time.

I've heard voices at night in my own room.

I once spent 6 weeks at University of Tennessee for a summer thing.. I was cutting through a building after hours.. well I saw a man walking up behind me.. nervous as hell I kind of walked as fast as I could up to the exit.. but before I could put my hand on it, he had come up and pulled it open and started speaking some kind of gibberish I could barely understand.. I mutter 'thank you' and walked out.. I turned around and he was nowhere to be seen.

My last experience was me and a girl were walking through the back part of a graveyard (the unorganized, old part of it) and she started talking about the guy who wrote the satanist bible or what have you and mentioned something about raising the dead with some words or whatever.. I was fuckin off and I kind of said them out loud.. and we heard this half-screech/half-laugh that sounded like it was from a child right after.. she grabbed my arm and we bolted out of there.

We're supposed to visit an old haunted hospital soon.

About being in a state of subconciousness, once I had a very unusual but cool experience with that. I was at a friend's house, and I had spent the night because we were snowed in. I woke up, sat around for a few minutes watching the snow out the window, then my friend came in the with the phone. He handed it to me (it was my mom), but I was still in a state of suspended conciousness, even though I appeared to be fully awake. I even remember it all. I looked at the phone, and turned it over a few times, trying to figure out what the hell this thing with a glowing red light was that he had just handed me. I was completely stumped. Just like I had been pulled right out of the 5th century and handed a cordless phone or something. Well, I didn't know what it was and what I was supposed to do with this wierd looking object with funny symbols on it, so I handed it back to him. He gave me the wierdest look and walked out of the room. Only later when I had gone back to sleep and woken up again (for real this time) did I remember what happened and realize what the thing was. I know it wasn't a dream too, because he told me later "next time your mom calls, don't just hand me the phone back."

^^ I've done something similar.

A girl I was seeing for a short while called me one night when I was asleep, I woke up, I looked at the phone for a minute.. got angry and threw it across the room. It wasnt till I woke up the next morning that I realized she called me that night.

Yeah but thats the wierd thing. I had already been awake for ~10 minutes when he came in with the phone.

a female friend of mine called me one afternoon (i was sleeping and dreaming). I "woke up", and I was like "Who's Kristina? I don't know a Kristina. I know a Crissy, but you're not her. Who ARE you?!" Then she said, "DAMMIT JET!" I snapped awake, and was like "Oh hey Triep! What's up?" That was kinda weird, now she teases me about it.

i woke my mom up the other night to tell her i was leaving and she said "dont call me mom! i'm not your mom!" like 3 times. then she told me, "i dont know you. get out of my room." that was kind of awkward. but she felt bad for saying that and took me out to dinner afterwards so even if she's not really my mom i love her anyways for buying me food!!!

I've been like that before. I remember one time in particular when I was in junior high or high school, living with my parents. I woke up one morning before school and still half asleep, my mom asked me if I wanted some orange juice. I stood there trying to figure out WTF orange juice is for a few minutes, finally had to ask her "What's orange juice?"... she just gave me a weird look and I kinda snapped out of it.

^^ Another similar experience to that.

My dad's a paramedic and works 24 hour shifts. Well when I was younger, we were quite poor.. we didnt have a phone at the time. I slept with my mom when he was away.. well..

One night I bolted up in bed and said "No, no, I don't want my daddy to die" and went right back to bed.. and for whatever reason.. my mom was awake at the time.

I remember something like those halfawake things. My sister came bursting into my room one night while i was on the comp and said, " I cant find the fucking bag." So i stood there staring at her like wtf?? So i finally asked, "What bag?". Then she looked at me retarded and was like what are you talking about?!? Needless to say i still give her shit about it.

Another time i guess i called my grandparents house at about 3 am. I asked if i could talk to my grandma and my grandpa told her she was sleeping. He told he i said i just wanted to call to make sure she was okay. When they asked me about it the next day i had no idea what they were talking about.

Yeah that's crazy. I've heard stories about oujia boards and there's no way I'd mess with one. That's messing with stuff that's beyond us.

Anyway, I don't have any ghost stories but I know some people that have some crazy ones.

My cousin's house is on an actual Indian burial ground. I've actually heard weird stuff coming from the woods like chants and stuff. His dad one night saw an old Indian man walk by the kitchen window. The thing is, the kitchen window is 10 feet above the ground. They'll see lights fly down the road and in the woods.

I also know this one girl and her house use to be an old plantation. The woman who lived there use to have a whole lot of slaves. In the barn you can see "cells" where there's finger nail marks on the walls. Some are just scratches and others are the counting of the days in there. At night you can hear chains being thrown around and stuff in the cells.
Also down in her field is where the either an underground railroad was or the plantation field was. Anyway at night you could hear down in the woods and way out in the field old slave songs being chanted and sang from many people.

As for personal ghost stories I don't have any. I may have saw bigfoot but that's another thread.

On the subject of subconcious states, one time I couldn't read words. I had woken from a nap in the middle of the day, and I went to get a Gatorade. On the bottle it said 'Rehydrates' but I just couldn't understand the word, it just looked like a random string of letters. I tried phonetically saying it outloud, but it came out as 're-hid-dra-rate'. I just stared at the bottle for a minute thinking 'why would they put these letters here?'. It was so weird.

I think he's saying that your mind may be more susceptible to perceiving "spirits" when you are in a state of half-awakedness... is that a word, awakedness? LOL.You rang.

Okay, I really do not have any ghost story except the occasional house making noises that can't be explained crap. But I do have a strange sleep deja vu story.

Once I was in a heavy sleep and it was about 5 in the morning, but for some reason I wake up (still half asleep) and I screamed out "Call Christine, find out if shes okay." to which my other half says "what", which I reply "earthquake" and fall right back to sleep. A few hours later, we wake up do our usual morning stuff head down to the kitchen and I say "I had the strangest dream" as I was turning on the TV. At that moment the morning news started mentioning the minor earthquake that struck NJ (near where my sister lives at) and that it happened at 5:15 am. We both look at each other dumbstruck.
