Can I put a new stereo/cd player in this car,or just a changer?

Yes to both.... Newer stereo's have to get creative on your installation though. Most put it in the center section in front of the shifter above the tape deck, although.... not all sunbirds came with this section, but you can get one out of a junk yard pretty easiely (there are 3 at one of the yards local to me). Or you can just get some older CB radio style brackets (90 deg. angles) and mount it to the dash under the climate control, but that looks like a "hack job". Better to go with the center section, the shifter can be a little tricky (especially with a 5sp like my old 94).
Changer's would be easier, but then you'd lack all the benifits from the newer technology on the new head units. Not to mention it'd be nice to be able to run amps and the like without using adapters for the inputs.
I'm putting an aftermarket unit in that same location right now on the 94 I just picked up, along with some amps for a decent system. Plus, I'll be able to run an additional changer later if I want.
