If anybody hasn't guessed yet, I'm not very good with taking things apart, but I'm learning :) Anyway, topic pretty much says it all, I bought a chrome bowtie to replace the gold one that comes stock on the grille. I would just like to know if it will be hard to make the swap, and how to go about getting the stock one off. Thanks.

Are you sure it is glued on?
It could be bolted on through the grille.

I just tried prying it off with a screw driver, it worked. The new one is a bolt on though, will it still work?

You probably busted off the front plate of the bolt on stock bowtie.

Ok, if you don't own a Blazer , can you please STOP telling people how to replace parts when you don't even know what you are saying.
Right now because of your advice he might have ruined something.
Stick to your section for advice, and please stop telling people how to fix things when you don't even truly know how to yourself on a Blazer.
Thx.

I see where your coming from BlazerLT, and you're right. Jason is a friend of mine, he is just trying to help.
Anyway, I don't think I ruined anything, I popped it right back in, not sure if it will stay or not, I plan to put this new one in anyway. Where would the bolt be located.

It may vary from model year to model year, but to get the grille off my truck (which I do every year to clean the nest of bugs and leaves that collect against the A/C condensor) there are two bolts inside the grille, center - one above the bowtie, one below. Remove the bolts, and then firmly, but carefully yanking straight out and back, the snap fasteners come loose, popping the grille off. *IF* there is a bolt to hold your bowtie emblem on (I never bothered looking, honestly) it will be right there when you flip the disassembled grille over in your lap.

I understand that, but telling people to do things a certain way when he does even know is not helping, it is HURTING.

well lets see here, its plastic, if you own a gm, you know 95% of your vehical is plastic, including your intake and intake manifold gasket... what im getting at is there is a METAL bolt behind this plastic, prying on a plastic peice with a metal flat head, yep he sure is replacing somethign, and if he rips that bolt out of place, and it gets a good sized hole there, the new bolt wont take place, and then there you go replacing the whole grille, or it may never sit right... so please, i realize that your a friend and trying to help, but, if your going to do somethign half assed why bother to do it at all???

You guys need to lighten up on cobradude. I've seen everyone of you (myself included) post incorrect information before. None of us would want to be crucified for making a mistake. It was an honest mistake, the majority of emblems that I've seen from all makes and models have either been glued on or snap in place.

Bro, it is not the fact as to who he is or incorrect info, it is the fact that he is giving advice about a vehicle he has NO experience with. You don't see me going to Corvette owner and telling them what to do seeing I own a GM vehicle.
It is like me going to the Mustang forum and telling some guy how to replace a sensor when I have never fixed or touched a mustang engine.
If you don't know, don't post and screw some innocent guy over who thinks that you know what you are talking about.

But you didn't say that, you told him to grab a screw driver and pry it off even when you didn't know how it was put together.
Stick to what you know about and avoid posting if you don't have a clue.
Thread's dead, you have done enough damage.
