Am trying to replace the plugs on my '93 supercab. The previous owner was a little shy on maintenance. Found most of the plugs on the exhaust side way out of spec (approx. .065) and one of them with the core completely broken (rusted?) through. Now working on the intake side and access is a total PITA. Managed to get to 1 thru 3, but the 4th is all but accessible. Haven't even been able to get the boot off in over an hour. Any tricks? I'm trying to keep disassembly to a minimum.

Well, finally some progress. Got the boot off of the #4 plug on the intake side with the help of a large set of needle-nose pliers. Removed vacuum line and electrical connector from the EGR valve for more clearance. Used a long extension w/swivel joint and sparkplug socket. Here's a tip: use a couple of wraps of electrical tape to stabilize the u-joint. This will aid in controlling the socket until it is set on the plug while still allowing flex while loosening or torquing the plug. Royal PITA but well worth it. Test drive showed a definite improvement in midrange power.
