Hey folks-
I have a 1999 Alero and just got a cd/cass to fit the car (ebay). Ok, here is my question: Are there any resources/instructions on how to get the old one out and the new one it? What is the 'theft lock' deal on it? Does that mean I have to do something funky like hold my breath when I press a button?
I am looking for some step by step instructions on how to do the switch. Any help is greatly appreciated...
Cheers,
Will

Theftlock allows you to set a code that will lock the radio when it loses power - the thought is that if someone steals it, it won't do anything other than put "loc" on the display. It's not too hard to change - I did the Ebay thing and bought a delco cd/cassette to replace the stock cassette only unit. The hardest part is getting the trim bezel off so you can get the radio out. It's been a couple years, but I believe if you just work it out slowly, you'll feel where the friction clips are. Take your time, and you should be all set. You may need to do some jockeying around with the shifter and e-brake lever to get the bezel to swing out of the way if I remember correctly. I did mine in about an hour. Good luck.
