HI, my GF just bought a 1996 avenger v6 power everything. and the headlights are messed up. the passenger stays on all the time have to unplug it. the driver side works fine from the switch. it seems that both run thru the fuse and relay still tho. any one know whats up with this?

The most obvious root cause of this problem is a ground short on the wiring. Other than that the problem could be in the headlight housing area. Also, check the HEADLIGHT fuse under the hood and make sure that doesn't need to be replaced.
Good luck!

aye i have changed both relay's and fuse for it. i am thinking its ground. i have hooked other headlights up to it and it does the same. havent had time but will check it out tonight .
ok i have checked the ground and its not wrong. its very odd i ran the wiring from Driver headlight to passanger headlight (the bad one) and it does the same thing. for some reason if i run the ground over it wont work at all. if anyon eknows where i can get wiring blueprints or something close it would help lots.

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to answer your question. I've got the diagram to help but I need to do some more research on your car. I need to know if you have daytime running lights (DRL). Does your headlight stay on while the car is off? Also you don't have a grounding problem. The headlight switch provides a +12V to the head lights and your headlights should always be grounded. I need to know what the 6th digit of your vin is. That will tell me what series you have so I know if you have DRL's or not. I'm guessing it's a 5. Get back to me and I'll post the diagrams and such and help you fix the problem.
