walked an evo *updated*

hellow again, a long time ago, somthing like way back on page 17 i posted about walking a local evo on the highway

as i expected much critzim was exspressed and i promised finished pics and dyno numbers and so on

the day after i dynoed i got called back up with my reserve unit and had to go to ft leonardwood MO for updated trainning, basicly they phased my MOS out into another and i had to go and relearn the one that i had, anyway thats another story

i dont know where you herd that, but the qr has been pushed all the way up to 330whp on stock internals, i think a guy on the vboard recently dynoed at somthing like 325whp and 315ftq

who whole kit together came in at a little under 4G, that was with the custom 3in exhaust, and guages that didnt come with the kit, they place i tuned it at did a free job just becuase they had never see one before and were very interested in seeing what it could do

besides from the evo story one of my favorits was a 99 cobra, kid with his girl pulls up to me when i was heading home from drill one day, the kids got the most ignorant imma win grin on his face...... 50mph 3 honks......135mph later and 2 cars kid wasnt all smiles, but his girl friend was at me :smokin:

what kind of turbo did you get is it hotshot? i'm thinking about putting a turbo on my car but it's never been done on a sentra with the ga16 engine with nitrous so I dont know lol

oh you got a garret turbo come on man. You should have gotten a hotshot turbo, I dont know if you have evr been to this website but you should go sentra.net they tell you everything you should know and nissanforums.com hotshot supports Nissan so much you should have bought hotshot but I guess you didn't know oh well. Definately go to that site it's hard finding aftermarket support for our cars but hotshot is definately the company to go with.... and I'm not just saying that because they sponsor me lol

Umm, not tryin to be a dick, but you are wrong.

Going off of the specs that you spit out, an 04 EVO has 275 hp at the flywheel, aka not whp. Let's say that the EVO loses 21% of its power through the drivetrain (conservative), that means that it puts about 217hp to the ground.

Turbo SpecV57's Sentra puts 300whp (to the ground, mind you). 300whp > 217whp with comparable gearing and weight. From a roll, AWD is really a disadvantage, as it loses more power than RWD or FWD. Thus, the advantage goes to the Sentra, rather than the EVO. From a dig, as you said, might be a different story.

Oh and BTW, the 04 EVO puts out a claimed 271hp/273tq, not quite 275hp/280tq you claimed.

Well, AWD makes for a lot of drivetrain loss and that sounds about right. Isn't it about 15% on a RWD car?

why is everyone saying this sentra has 300whp? The dyno cleary says 287hp...Maybe 300 at the crank but not the wheels.

Polygon: WAY to many factors to determine drivetrain loss on RWD cars, especially ones with mods. Like mine put down exactly 352rwhp but that's through a heavier than stock TKO600 5spd. A heavier flywheel, and thicker axles. On a stock rwd car you also have to figure if its auto or manual. And what brand, model, year as things could have changed within the years. A stock 5.0 put down around 170hp at the wheels. Rated at 225hp that's 25% loss. With lighter axles, lighter tranny, and lighter flywheel.

Nope, actually in my Motor Trend Magazine they dynoed the STi to 230+ whp, same as the MR Evo. They had to remap the car's as the STi had engine pinging, which was actually detonation. Anyways, 287 whp will definitely beat a stock evo/mildly modded one, along w/ most cars. One w/ a piggyback unit will give you problems, especially if he has support mods (cam gears, turboback, fuel pump). Nice pics of the car. I'll try to post up dyno times when I dyno my WS6.
