I bought this used Grand Am and the interior is in pretty bad shape. I wanted to know if there is some kind of car interior spray paint for your dash board and other plastic surfaces. I saw some other Grand Am's and they have different colors on their dash board. If there is i wanted to know where i could get something like that. At Walmart or someplace else? And how much would it be?

Try a local parts store, I know VIP (regional new england chain) does carry interior paint, so its got to be out there. Just be careful when painting, make sure you mask all the glass or better yet pull the pieces out of the car and paint them outside, its easier to make sure they are clean.

Krylon Plastic Kote is a paint I've heard of being succesfuly used to paint our interiors. People on other sites have used that, with clear coat sometimes on top. I would reccomend it.

I thought plastikote was high heat engine paint, unless they changed things around...

Well not plastikote; it's Plastic Kote - if that makes a difference. That's what everyone I've heard of has been using - look for a vinyl painting type of it; that should work with the interior.

I don't remember the brand but I have used spray paint from Fleet Farm in the past. It was in the paint section in a red can. It was for general purpose and include plastic applications per the instructions. I used that along with their clear coat. A couple applications were over 4 years ago and it looks just as good now as it did.

You might want to try posting this under cars in general > interiors. You might get more responses.

i painted my interior. Walmart carries a GM brand spraypaint but its essentially the same thing as your regular household spraypaint (other than paint codes). Heres a link to some pics of my interior. (dont forget to check page 3 as well theres a few more:

Let me know if your actually going to do it and i'll tell you how (its not as easy as just spraying it and putting it back on).

I dont know if it is still around, but there used to be a product called FabSpray that was available for either vinyl or fabric. The fabric spray was very hard to keep applied evenly if you were using a light color, but red, black and blue were pretty good. Best part was you could spray cloth seats and it did not come off on your clothes once it dried.
The vinyl spray worked great, especially goin over the same color, but both of these products were originally designed for interior use and faded with prolonged sunlight. Not a problem today with tinted windows though. ArmorAll did not exist then, but i'm pretty sure it would damage the finish of it or cause problems with it sticking properly, so clean the areas really good with alcohol before painting (for any paint on interior vinyl).
The stuff used to be available at upholstery shops and some auto supplies or hardware stores.
