Fog lamps

Hi,

Does anyone know what kind of lightbulb the fog lamps use? I have a 98 grand prix with stock fog lamps, the big round ones under the main lights, and one of the bulbs has gone. It would save me having to jack my car up twice if someone knew :)

i have the same year as you, when my fog lamps went i diddnt even have to jack it up, but you gotta feel around for the wire behind the lamp holder, when you do feel it, it the socket with the bulb attached should twist out, then theres a little clip that holds the bulb in place, i forget the number on the bulb but i belive it was a four digit number that began with an 8, autozone or someplace simmilar should have a new one. hope i was some help.

i have a 1997 Regal...my foglamps are different...i was able to slide under the front bumper enough to get them out. If clearence is an issue then maybe you could pull the car to the edge of the driveway to allow the nose to hang over the driveway ramp. When you go to the auto store , in the lighting section, you could look up the type of bulb for your car. No need to go under the car to find part number...Also when handling the new bulbs, be sure not to touch the glass w/ your hands..These bulbs are halogen and the oil from your hands will cause them to break. Also i usually replace my lights in pairs...If one side goes , the other will usually go shortly after..

I wasnt sure about the halogen part, my lens are quite scratched up, but i was wondering, they looked quite big. Ill drop by the parts store tomorrow and see if they have the part number and hopefulyl the part.

I guess i must have a big head of something becuase i cant slide uder the front enough to ge a good look. Ive never removed them before so i dont want to damage anything by pulling or bending where i shouldnt.
