Hey guys, i am having a hard time starting my civic after it has not been running for a while. It feels and sounds like either a fuel shortage in the engine or an electrical problem in the start-up sequence. When I floor the accelerator while the engine is off and then try to start it, it will try to roll over for about ten seconds, then it will start. I have not had the car for that long so I am going to try replacing the battery and the fuel filter first. Any suggestions after that? Please advise.

we spoke of this recently. next time turn the key to the on position and leave it there for about 30 seconds and THEN try to start the car. should start right up, unless it's not the problem i'm thinking of.

Can anyone give me an idea as to what the underlying problem might be?
