Has anyone put in new window moters in there doors.

i have a 91 brovada that needs both front window moters. the pasenger has been burnt out for 3 months and the driver window is about to burn out. the cost for the moters is about $45.00, but toi tack it to the shop it will $275.00 a door. i have not found any thing on the net on how to get to the moters (dealing with the door linkage).

I haven't done this yet but I checked my '92 service manual and it should apply to yours. First raise the window all the way up, remove the armrest & door panels. The book says to drill a small hole and put in a screw in the window regulator where it'll jam the mechanism gear to hold the window up because there's a spring that'll try to lower the window when you take the motor out. You might find a stick that will hold the window up if you don't want to drill anything...I'd try the stick first.
Disconnect the wiring then drill the rivets holding the motor in place. Replace with a new motor then install new correct size rivets. Take out the lock screw or the stick then making sure everything is out of the way, see if it works correctly. Reassemble the door.
