Basically the car has to be light and rwd. Other than that, I guess about a $10,000 track ready cost including the price of the car sounds about a good limit. I had the miata in mind. Alot of companies make performance parts for the car, and they seem really light and nimble, and about 200 to 250 hp seems easily attainable(eventually). I was also thinking about an Mr2 mkI (don't ask why, I just want opinions) Are there any other cars out there with great modification potential for razor sharp handling and "decent" power. I really like the bmw e30 m3, but they are so expensive. I saw a bone stock one with 175k for like 12grand...........can't go that route. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Robert

that first gen mr2 would be a great choice, over here i can pick one up for about 800$ that has maybe some small damage, but with a strong engine, this is a pretty good car, lightweight and everything, miata is also graet, i think of the two, go for a miata, but there are also other choices, the first gen rx7, 2nd gen rx7, and some older toyota supras could work out pretty well too.

The Miata will probably be your best choice, its cheap, light, handles well, responds well to mods, and has great aftermarket support.

Love the Miata. BMW E30 would be a very good choice as well. Tons of fun, built like a tank, incredible handling, and also great aftermarket support.
