ecu question

ok,in my other thread about my burned wires i told everyone that i didnt know what was wrong, but now i do the machanic said i blew the ecu and he can get me one for free from his friend who has a junk yard but its a 96 mines a 98 so question is will a ecu from a 96 work with my 98gs,thank you

I would say with 90% certainty that it would.

I'm not sure about the gs ecu but you could give a mitsu dealer a call and get the par number then call back and get the other one.

ECU part numbers change almost every year, even though the parts may still be interchangeable. Probably just software updates or something along those lines. So that in itself may not be terribly helpful. That being said, I know nothing about the NT ECUs.

ok good well i guess i didnt have to change it out anyway,i burned the egr wires with my intake and it died and i got no reaction from the key,but when we looked under the fuse box under the hood those wires were burned so we replaced those and now im running again so thanks guys for the help
