1997 blazer no reverse

Can anybody give me a little help with this one. I have no reverse but i have all my foward gears. I CAME HOME LAST NIGHT stopped to backup it went about ten feet and stop moving.. thanks

Maybe you were hitting your kid's Big Wheel or something.

Are you sure you have all the forward gears? The most common failure I know of in 4L60Es that results in no reverse also results in no 2nd or 4th... it's the famous sun gear reaction shell failure.

Ok i checked last night 2nd slips . SO i guess i'll pull the trans .thanks guys..

Just to be sure, I'd pull the pan and look for some metal first. I'd hate for you to pull the transmission and have this issue be something else, although chances are it is the shell.

when i try to put my 98 blazer in gear it goes up and down through any and all gears cleanly llike there is nothing there? what the hell this just happenned i am worried about my tranni, and if it's worth fixing a tranny

It is your sun shell reaction gear that has bit the dirt. My S10 4x4 did the same thing without any warning. worked one day and not the next. The sun shell reaction gears only cost 38 dollars (US). Only problem is, it's near the rear of the tranny. You may as well replace the spacer place in your valve body too. I rebuilt mine for about 480 US dollars and 25 dollars for the CD manual.
