Why Start?

I got a 2.8L truck and its been off the road for awhile but i've always kept it running and in working order, i went to start it yesterday and it wouldnt start and it was last week. I noticed that there is gas comming up fromt the pump but i can't see any comming out of the injectors, should i be able to see any? If gas is thrown down the throttle body around the injectors she will run until that gas burns off, Any Ideas?
