My brother has a 1990 olds 88 w/ 110k Vin C
He recently had his camshaft magnet replaced after it was broken loose after hitting a pothole. Now his engine is idling hard because one of the coils on the coil pack doesn't have any spark at all.
I ordered a new coil pack for him and installed it yesterday but the same coil still has no spark. We checked the spark plugs and wires and they are all good.
Could the ignition module be bad? What else could be causing new coils to not fire in the same spot as the old set of coil packs?

The problem is with the ignition module not the coil. Change it and the problem should go away.

Yep, it was a bad ICM. The car runs on all 6 cylanders, but the SES light rears it's ugly self intermittently. Brother is taking the car to Auto Zone and have them get the codes tommorow.
