I was driviing my 2003 cavalier home when it suddenly started shaking and sputtering when i pulled away from a red light. It almost died but came back on like nothing was wrong and then finally died about a mile down the road it will crank and start for just a few seconds then die. Now it wont start at all. Is this because of the fuel pump, bad battery or what. Also does this car have a fuel cutoff switch?

I had a similar problem, ('99 Cav) although my car never completely died; it would do the same thing at the stoplight, and then get better after a bit. My problem turned out to be the throttle sensor, although I've been told that a similar problem can be caused by a bad EGR valve.

need to check security system ,theft deterent .common ignition problem will let vehicle crank and not start .also fuel pump concern .poss fuel pump relay underhood switch with a/c relay and try
