I have a sqealing sound from the rear of '93 Ultra

I have a '93 Park Ave Ultra. Just recently I'm starting to hear a very slight squealing sound that gets louder the longer I drive the car during the course of the day. I hear this sound coming from the rear tires. The sound is more pronounced when I slow down to be barely moving and when slowing to a slow turn around a corner. I was wondering if this sound is a rear brake indicator informing me that new brake pads are needed or is it something more serious. Thank you for any help you can give.

it would be necessary to dismount the wheel and to see if the iron plate (brake indicator ) rubs on the rotor. you can twist it a little bit while waiting to change the brake pads

Could be a wheel bearing gone bad. You'll have to take a peek or take it to a shop.

I always thought the 93 Ultra had drum brakes on the rear.
If I am correct, you do not have a disc or wear indicator. The sound may be the shoes worn to the rivits or metal to metal. You need to find the problem soon. The longer you wait, the more expensive the repairs. :naughty:

Thanks,
I found out that the sound was actually the front brakes indictors (eventhough it sounded like it was coming from the rear). I replaced the pads and the sound went away. Thanks from your help.
