Stripping Tamiya paints

Guys,

I am having an unusually hard time stripping Tamiya TS-17 gloss aluminum (from a spray can) off my Fujimi Mercedes E55 AMG. I am using oven cleaner, but all it seems to do is bubble the paint up in little spots, not large areas. Is there a better way to strip or am I using the wrong stuff.

BTW, Formula 409 didn't work worth darn.

i had trouble stripping the tamiya's "Pure White" from one of my models too. oven cleaner didnt do a thing to it. I used oven cleaner on a purple/blue/silver mix i made from tamiya paints and that came off like water. but the white paint just wont come off. anyone know how to strip that off?

You might want to try lightly sanding the whole area a little and then throwin it into some castrol super clean. Had to do that to my Skyline:mad: but it worked like a charm. BTW, it had 3 coats of Tamiya spray and 2 coats clear, and was off lickety split, well overnight actually, just had to take a toothpick to some of the grooves etc.

CSC has worked great for me on Tamiya spray and acrylic paints. CSC has failed me on Gunze Sangyo sprays, though.

You can find it at auto parts stores in with the cleaners/degreasers.

cuz i painted my Altezza with teh same spray and i screwed up..
tell me wat u did to remove teh paint thx~
