1999 Monte Carlo Keyless Remote

Please HELP!! I just purchased a 1999 Monte Carlo and bought the remote from the dealer for $75.00!!! Now they want another $50 to program it!!! Does anybody know how I can program it myself - is it possible without some special tool?

you could have gone to an autozone ..most of them will program your remote for free

look behind the carpet in you trunk on the right side near the top. look for a black wire with a single pronged terminal on the end of it. its not plugged into anything and it should be tied to the plastic cover for your wiring harness for your rear lights. connect it to the frame (the trunk latch should using a jumper wire . the door locks and trunk will cycle then hold down the lock and unlock button for ten seconds. after that try your remote it should work.
