Brakes nd TCS

Hello Guys,
I have a 1997 PA which has had some squeaky brakes for about a month. I'll be getting them repaired in the next couple of days. I have also noticed that I cannot turn the TCS on and off. My question is if the bad bad brake pads would have anything to do with the TCS or even if it is still working?
