I recently completed a 1600 mile trip which lasted three days. While on the trip I decided to take a 30 minute nap with the van running. Outside temp was about 100 degrees. When I woke up I looked at the temp gauge which read right in the middle (normal) so I put it in drive and began to move. That lasted about 100 feet and then the van cut off. Like it was out of gas...but I had a full tank. The engine was really hot so I opened the hood and let it cool down for about an hour. After that it ran like a champ, unitl I got home. About two days later it did it again. That day was really hot too. I repeated the cooldown but this day it kept cutting out every 10 - 15 minuted. I took it to the dealer and got it hooked up to the computer and it showed no error codes. Does anyone have any sugestions? Thanks Oh- I forgot to mention that none of the dash light came on like the check engine light until the van lost all power. Thanks again.

I had the same problem on a 97 villager. The shop wanted to replace the fuel pump($525) but they had no reason for doing this. I was told by a friend that the relays could be overheating. Also there is a fuel tank overflow hose that has a recall notice. It's a bit vague but it can cause the gas to heat up. I've noticed that there is a lot of air pressure on the fill tube when unscrewing it. I have no solutions yet so if you get an answer please pass it on

it sounds like walts mechanic is right. the fuel pumps often did this on those models. the only way to know for sure is to have a f/p guage handy when the van is acting up. i can tell ya that ive put many fuel pumps in those things for that very reason and never had one come back with the same problem.

Check your air filters for clogs cheap and easy. I would lean towards the pump if you have over or near 100k
