Hot damn! Those are awesome. How much did that setup cost? And when are you rebuilding/swapping your engine? I sure hope you werent the bloke making the stupid faces in the camera. :grinno: Also, lets here a video of the engine revving a bit.

I've hosted a video of the engine revving with them on... But for some reason it cuts off after a Second... It's weird.

The last few swaps we've tried didn't work out... The B20B build was put on hold, due to some serious scoring in the cylinder walls. Unrepairable damage was done. So we scrapped that one.

The next swap we tried was a B18A swap... We went and picked up the 1989 Intergra LS, it was trashed to Shit, and the only thing that was any good in it was the Power Train. So we popped the hood, and my buddy said "It looks a bit small to be a B18... Wait a Fucking second"

Well after about 5 minutes of wiping the Engine Code area clean... D16A1... It was a Damn ZC motor :( So we bought it anyway, sold the Power Train for $350. No big deal seeming as we bought the car for $100.

So now I've said to Hell with it... I'm Turbocharging the Z6. Things aren't going my way lately, so I'm just going to stick with the Single Cam for now.

Anyway, the ITB's are for sale. 100% Bolt On kit, perfectly set TPS to .50volts, everything is bolt on. Not to mention is comes with a CROME tune that absolutely nails WOT :evillol:

I'm really sorry to hear about your engine problems. I was really looking forward to seeing a new engine build-up thread.

So when do you plan on getting the turbo project going? Are you going to bulletproof the bottom end or utilize a mild set-up?

You should make a new video of the car revving. I'd really appreciate it. How much of a difference could you feel with the ITBs? Also how much are you selling them for?

Snowman... I was running CROME. Why not run ITB's on a D-Series? Mind you, they added 28hp to the wheels on the D16Y8 that they were Dyno'd on.

I had a nice little set-up ready to go in... D16A6 Pistons, VCN-1000 Venom Nitrous System (35shot), full head rebuild, ZEX Camshaft. I'd be tickling into the 13 Second passes with that set-up.

Anyway, one of my buddies that builds Turbocharger kits for part of his living, has offered to build me his 7psi kit for only $1,000, installed and tuned with CROME. Guaranteed to run great on stock internals.

We have a backup Z6 laying around the shop that I'm going to rebuild with stock components, and wait for the existing engine to go 'pop'. I'm not trying to run any crazy amount of power... 7psi or 8psi will do just fine for me :)

With the ITB's on, and the CROME tune performed... The VTEC Cross-Over felt like a B-Series engine. Even the guy doing the tuning said "Woah, what the Hell?" when VTEC initiated for the first time. It was strange, the engine was screaming until VTEC, then it seems to get less loud, and the RPM just buries from there... I'm going to miss that :(

And I'm looking for $350 Shipped for the entire ITB set-up... That includes EVERYTHING you see there, I'll PM you with details if you're interested.

That engine/turbo set up sounds great. You better keep us posted!

What did the car run on the dyno after tuning? Oh, also you should make a video, cuz i'm dying to hear what the old d16 sounds like.

I missed the Dyno Day by a matter of hours... The local shop in town with a Dyno is out of business, and one of my friends (Owner of MADSPEED) is associated with the owner of the shop.

So anyone who was on the invite list was allowed to Dyno for only $20 for unlimited runs... Unfortunately my car wasn't tuned yet, thus is was having massive Fuel cuts and was honestly kind of scaring me.

Anyway, the Y8 Manifold is on now(Handles boost better than the Z6 Manifold), and car is ready for it's Turbocharger set-up... I'm going to miss my ITB's, but I suppose Boost will do just fine ;)

What type of mods did you have to your d16? was the 28hp added via a itb on a stock motor? Thanks!

I'm interested in a similar set up

Stock Engine... Megan 4-2-1 Header, Megan High Flow Catalytic Converter, stock exhaust from there back. Those are the only Modifications.

I was planning on the following Modifications:

-D16A6 Pistons (Bring the Compression Ratio to 10.4:1)
-Single Layer Head Gasket
-DH Racing Port/Polished Head milled down .030 (Compression Ratio will be at 11:1)
-ZEX Camshaft
-Pro-Speed Header
-Straight back 2.25" Exhaust
-VENOM VCN-1000 Electronically Assisted Nitrous System (35 Shot Tip, maybe 50-60hp increase)

I had half of these parts ready to go in... But I've decided to sell them all off.

Those modifications right there, would have me down into the 13 Second Passes, and MAYBE 12's with some fine tuning, and driver improvement.

How are the Megan Header and Exhaust for you, im really interested into purchasing thier exhaust and headers(after the swap), so I was just wondering what your opinion was about the headers and Catalytic Converter.

ZedEx

I haven't sold the ITB's yet... I need to though. The Turbo system is calling me :D

As for the Megan Products... They work great. You can definately find better products, but for the price and quality, they can't be matched.

What I would suggest doing... Buy the Header, Catalytic Converter, AND Exhaust system all at the same time. And install it all at once.

Otherwise, you'll end up doing what I had to do... Side grinding each bolt off the Catalytic Converter :( That took a good two hours to get everything off, and back on.

So just save up, and do it ALL at once... Also, get another Oxygen Sensor, this makes life much simpler.

ok cool that saves alot of trouble, i was gonna buy the catback and then get my swap and the header, so the B18 header will match up to my civic hatch catback?
