Mercedes 85 190E Fuel Injection Problem

My brother removed & replaced the engine in a 85 Mercedes 190E with the 2.3L 4-cyl engine. I cannot get the engine to start even though the current installed engine was running great when driven to the house for installation. I don't detect any flow of gasoline at the injectors even though I'm fairly certain of good fuel pressure. I do think the start injector is working as the engine tries to start a little bit. Anyone have an idea of what to check on the Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection system? Please help.

maybe there is a hole in the air intake hose located somewhere near the fuel pump (I think?)...hard to get at. Cost me about $500 to fix, but car has run fine since. I just remembered, they found this with a "smoke" diagnostic test (on an '88 190.e 2.3).

The cold start injector should only kick in below a certain temperature, I think its 59F. An excellent reference book for Bosch CIS Injection is http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?isbn=0837603005

How much of the fuel system stayed with the engine when it was replaced? There are only two systems to daignose for this- fuel delivery and ignition. However between them are atc least 6 relays and control units, any of which may go out at any time.
