today we got like 9 boosts!!

really... camped last coupla nights, used the radio... battery dies... get a boost from sister and all is well, except now we have a headlight out
so next morning van starts just fine, we shut it off to check-out of site, van wont start. (boost number 1 for the day) at first it wouldnt work, battery was kinda clicking and making noise, then...
drive through, stalls out... (boost number 2)
Driving on highway all the sudden ALL the gauges on the dash stop working (no speedometer, fuel gauge, etc, AND the little light at the top for abs came on...
all day, boosts at the pen, boosts at the gas station, at the coffee shop, and one guy actually gave us 3)
Headlight starts working again, and there is a clicking sound behind the glove box on the dash (was worried an aribag might fly outta the box and hit me...
any insights or similar occurances where you have found out whats wrong, i would love to hear....
especially if u could do it soon, b4 the mechanic decides to ding me for a buncha other stuff (better if I know the prob...)

Make/Model/Year might be helpful.

Perhaps you have either a bad grounding starp or some sort of charging problem - maybe even a bad battery. I'd certainly start with checking the main ground, then testing the charging system. Could be something else but that's where I'd start.
