Replacing Lhs Tranny

Does Anyone Know How Difficult It Is To Replace A Tranny On A 94 Lhs? It Shutters Like Crazy Between 38 & 40mph And Hunts @ Various Other Speeds. I Tried Shutter Fix By Lube Guard & It Worked For About 3 Weeks. I'm Guessing The Tranny Is Toast. Any Input Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks.

I highly doubt that your transmission is toast. Easiest, cheapest and most efficient way to fix your transmission is to change your fluid out the Mopar ATF +4, the only recommended fluid by Chrysler for all their cars. The shuddering you have is the result of the friction modfiiers in your fluid have worn out and whenever the torque converter clutch applies (usually partial lock-up occurs around 38 MPH and full lock-up at 42 MPH) you feel that shudder of the torque converter applying. Go to a transmission shop and have it flushed out and put nothing but Mopar ATF +4. I have seen it happen and it works.

My car has a tranny issue, but not excatly as here. It shifts fine up, but when trying to shift to 4th (I guess), it acts this ways: it tries to get on the 4th, kind of "touches" it but does not engage. It may sometimes stay there if the road is flat, speed constatant and no big hills requiring torque. When I reduce the speed i.e to the stop, it jumps into limp mode, or it does the same if I need to push on a pedal to accelerate. There is no obvious strong shutter or noise. And when the engine or weather gets hot, the prombem gets worse and I can see the limp mode very quickly.
BTW: what is the effect of a weak battery?
So I keep driving it now in the city by shifting manually, starting to drive with the shifter on 3 position,a and with the speed increasing moving the shifter into D. If I need to slow down I move the shifter to 3rd, to avoid limp mode.
I replaced the speed sensors, tried with different tranny computer (excatly the same type), and have tried to clean the connectors. Also did the flush and complete tranny oil change and filter, using 3+ (so not 4+....would this make a world of a difference?)
The car I bought with an engine problem (main bearing gone) and it was sittiing for a year. I don't know this for sure, but I would be very surprised it the car had already a tranny problem by that time. I hope it was not towed with four wheels, but couldn't tell that for sure either.
Any good ideas? The car is in Finland so there are not that many experts around to help.
