I have searched the threads...no luck...please help if possible
95 GMC Jimmy 4.3L 4wd---Problems started while driving...oil pressure guage dropped to zero and alternator guage was going back and forth and car proceeded to begin to run like crap....rough idle, choppy etc. Thought alternator had gone....had it tested....alternator was fine. Replaced oil pressure sender/switch and for one day....things seemed fine.
Then fuel pump started running continuously so I replaced it with a new fuel pump. New pump won't shut off either. Fuel pump runs constantly and drains the battery DEAD. I bought a new fuel pump relay...but can't find the location of it. Now I wonder if the oil pressure sender/switch was the right part ---it looked identical to the old one but didn't seem to want to plug in once it was in the car. Please help. Thanks in advance,
Gary

You probably have the wrong oil pressure switch.the relay is on the driver side firewall.one of those two should help

I have a 95 jimmy 4.3 4x4 and my I had to replace my fuel pump relay.
Mine was located in the glove compartment. You'll see a little black cover and there are 2 or 3 relays in there. I cant remember which one it is though. They are all the same relay so its a process of elimination.
Hope that helps with that. Sorry, cant help with other probs.

We really think it is the oil pressure switch...the parts store had 2 that looked identical...they say the thread sizes on the screw end were different..but not to the naked eye. Anyway we think we got the wrong one  . At any rate we still aren't sure of the problem....gave up and we are thinking about trading this one in. But for your $20 I'd probably try changing the oil pressure sensor again. Hope this helps.
