2000 jetta cd player error

i have a stock single cd player in my car. when i put a cd in and turn it to the player, it shows "chk magazin" but i dont even have a changer. i took it to a dealer and car toys, they both had no idea what it was. if you take out the cd and turn it to cd player it reads "no disc" i cant figure out what is going on!!!
