Wrangler Or Firebird???

i have this posted on here and on the wrangler forum to get an equal view but heres my situation i drive about 40 miles to college 5 days a week and as you can probably tell i own a 95 wrangler hardtop 5 speed with 117000 miles and 30 x 9.50 tires well of course its not the smoothest ride in the world and down the road at one of my local used auto sales there is a 95 firebird red with a 3.4L 5 speed and 157000 miles and a new clutch. the only special thing on it is the tires which if i might add are kick ass well the stereo is aftermarket but thats beside the point no t-tops or n e thing like that .... but the jeep isnt the smoothest ride and the firebird has quite a bit on it and believe me riding in a jeep down the highway at 65 or 70 isnt fun.... but i need some opinions the guy i talked to told me i could trade him the jeep for the car even and i talked him into putting a nice exhaust on it for me. what should i do should i make the trade and get rid of the jeep ?? or should i keep the jeep and pass the bird up???

The bird has quite a few miles on it and it is a V6. If you like being able to take the top and doors off your Jeep on nice weekends more than riding smoothly in a faster sports car, then i would keep the Wrangler. If the ride quality is begining to annoy you enough that another car is becoming a greater option, than the Firebird is a good choice. I just don't know if I would trade an upgraded Wrangler for a high mileage V6 Firebird that didn't have some added feature to boost its value.

Also, the Blue Book value on your Jeep with no options, the mileage, with the exception of the hardtop is about $5000 private party value in good condition. Compared to the Firebird with no options, 3.4 V6, and its mileage in good condition private party value of about $2600. The Wrangler holds resale a whole lot better. This is probably why the guy is willing to make a straight up trade. Even with the good exhaust system added, the Jeep is worth more at least according to Blue Book Value in my area.

Just a couple things to consider. Hope this helps a little.

Keep the Wrangler. You'll be glad you did. That Firebird has way too many miles on it. I'd try looking around a little bit more and see if you can't find a better car. Though, you're really lucky as it is now to even have a wrangler. I'd love to have one of those man. Just wish I could afford one.

Keep the Wrangler dude, no doubt. The Firebird just isnt worth it with that many miles since it's about to kick the bucket and the Wrangler still has alot of life left in it.
