Do Sonatas look like the Lexus GS series cars?

Guyz plz help me in this argument. I ve noticed that Hyundai tends to incorporate the Lexus GS design into their associated Sonata models. For example, I thought the last Sonata (release 2001) looked amazingly similar to the GS300 on the front lights (the only difference was that the lights were joint in the Sonata) and the new one looks like the GS430 (especially tailights but also the fact that headlights are the same style except that it is one large piece instead of 2 separate ones in the Lexus). Whats the matter with these guyz? Are they trying to make a Lexus GS at the fraction of the cost?

I don't think thats the case, but now adays, most automakers borrow styles and design among each other. But looking like a Lexus, not really. Although for the features, it surely gives it a run for its money.

Hyundai, as all do, does borrow ideas and designs I'm sure, as twospirits says. As for going exclusively from Lexus.. naw, not really. For the new EF models, take a look at many on the Jaguar lineup. And for the NF models, many new cars seem to go for the same slim horizontal headlight look and body styling lately. Honestly.. I don't mind having an under-$20k car look better than some of the other "money with wheels" ones. I had a conversation with a Cadillac owner the other day, and after he looked at my car, was told that out of the features he had that I didn't, he only really likes or uses the heated seats, which can be found on some 'Natas I believe.

Hyundai really packs their vehicles with accessories, only wish they also include navigational systems, but I hear those are coming soon.

Yeah true...I think the Hyundai certainly gives Lexus a run for money with a similar car at a little over $AUS25,000

i bought my wife a '95 and for the first few days tried to figure out why this looked like I saw it before. Then i noticed that the front setup looked quite a bit like the early GS300's. Tho not half as big. I think it loses it around the rear ( pass. ) windows which were squarish on the GS. i loved the early GS's and every one since then so this was pleasing anyway, not to mention her car had all the same features ( and some more ) than my Accord (itself loaded) . I was pleasantly surprised by this secret Hyundai world and PS she loves it too. One last thing, Dont forget that the GS has been, and remains, a hooked up Camry.
