Could any one tell me the technical difference between a caprice and the police version?, I have a regular one ( 1989), but I want to modify it.

There are many differences. Too many to list all of them.
Brakes are bigger
sway bars are bigger
frame is supposedly thicker as well
alternators are usually bigger too.
oil cooler
power steering cooler
It goes on and on...

LT1 did not come with police package Caprice until 1994 except for a prototype in '92. Before that, it was the L05 from 1989 to 1993.
Also, for many years (atleast 1989 till 1994 with exception of Caprice Classic LTZ in 1993), only police package caprice could be ordered with the 350-cid. All civic caprices came with V-6 262-cid or V-8 305-cid.
Electric fans were not added until 1994 with LT1.
Posi-traction was a RPO (regular production option), so it was avaible regardless if it was civilian or police package.
9c1 (police package) features included:
heavy duty frame
larger radiator
transmission cooler
larger wheel bolt pattern
heavier duty brakes (front and rear)
heavy duty battery
external engine oil cooler

To those who answered me thanks. The main reason I asked that question, is because I want to put a 350 in myn. I want to make that as close as possible to the police version.
