i have had my 2001 vw jetta wolfburg edition for almost 2 months now and when i first got it the clutch felt stiff. now it feels like i can almost slam the pedal through the floor. i have no problems getting to any gear, but it still feels a little strange. i was wondering if any buddy knows whats might be the problem. and if it is my clutch should i invest in a racing clutch. i found a couple online for about $600

Could be a slave cyl or master cyl leaking air into the system. Is your brake fluid level staying the same? if it is than its most likely your clutch is going out.

Well after time the springs in the pressure plate for the clutch wears out and makes it real easy to press in. Problably need a new clutch. There about 900 and come with a flywheel for 1.8t

A factory clutch kit from vw is about 900. It comes with the clutch, pp, flywheel all assembled. Aftermarket clutches are just the clutch and pp no flywheel. I would recccomend using a clutch from a vr6 due to the larger and stronger clutch. You will need a vr6 flywheel also if u get the vr6 clutch.
