Actually a Canadian gallon (or an imperial gallon as it is known) holds a little bit more than a u.s. gallon.

Imperial or Canadian gallon = 4.54 litres according to goolge so that = $4.81 a gallon here.

A U.S. gallon = 3.78 litres according to google so that = roughly $4.01 a gallon here.

Either way it still sucks.

$2.73 for 87 oct. , west coast price, and the refineries are all within 40 miles. You think that would make it cheaper. Prices are based on production & transportation of crude stock, refined process (which is the largest percent), pipeline transportation, truck terminal distribution and then comes the taxes (federal, state, excise tax). The big roll over is happening now, the buyers market is turning into the sellers market.consumption is becoming much greater than production and new discovery of oil. In about 50-80 years fuel will not be available to the consumer, only military and goverment.

Not enough to motivate there ass to find more reserves. Higher prices and they think more profit even though they won't admit it...

259.9 a gallon right now. My wife's laid up so I'm driving her Grand Prix this week. Man, that thing coasts FOREVER on the highway while reading 99.9 mpg on the computer. Average mpg readings at the end of the day is 30 mpg.

I'd better watch out...I could get used to this.

$2.63 for 93 here and rising everyday. I get anywhere from 8-10mpg on normal driving days, and probably alittle less than 1 mpg going down the track. But hey, I didn't build it to get good gas mileage, so I'm not bitching.

Holy crap, our gas just went up another .20cents It's up to $2.7 here in Indiana

It's bullshit that gas prices soar 20-30 cents going up, but only go down 2-3 cents at a time. Damn price gougers... I'd ride a bike, if I didn't work 55miles away from home....

Wow! It's not quite that high here yet. It was 2.57 on my way home last night. That was middle Georgia prices. Seems the east side of the state is higher than here on the west.

I would rethink the bike riding. over at a few for the bike sites i go to, thay did a compairson of rideing bikes to driving trucks. it cost more per month to ride a bike. you will save on gas but the cost of tires, and maintance get you in the end.

u got the maintenance, insurance, bike payment and all that good stuff. just drive the truck and deal with it, is my theory.

Thought I'd cash in some Speedy Rewards points the other night when it hit 2.79 a gallon. I had enough for 25 cents off per gallon, up to 25 gallons. It took 24 3/4 gallons to fill, about 68.00. I handed the slip to the kid at the counter and he rang it up. Afterward, he said "All set man." I said "What?" And he said "Have a nice night."

It was indeed tempting, but I said "I still need to pay for my gas". He then said "Oh, did I do that again?" He thought I cashed in for a FREE tank of gas, up to 25 gallons! I wish.

Paid my 62.00 and left. Couldn't do that to the kid.

Good for you. In Western Wisconsin we've sadly started seeing an increase in "drive aways" from gas stations. I know its common in bigger cities - but in the La Crosse's and Eau Claire's of the world - its very rare. Whats too bad - is the attendants minding the cash register get the heat for the gas price from the customers - and they get the heat if they "let" someone drive away - by management. A no win situation for some. Its still not common around here to have drive aways - but it now becomes another part of "expense of operations" which means - just a bit more added to gas prices for us to pay - or more stations start thinking about "pay before you fill".

You did the right thing. If you had decided to take the free gas and run. Something bad would happen to you down the line..I think they call it Karma.

It's $2.47 here in Oklahoma. But I drive my little dodge dakota at least 3 days out of the week to save a little $$$. These prices suck ass. I was also thinking about a bike too. Maybe an R6 or something. You can get a good used one for around 6k

I agree. The thought of leaving without paying never really entered my head until the "what if's" later on. My concience doesn't do well when I try to do things like that so I don't.

It's easy to see why these gas prices are turning people into criminals though. Seventy bucks just for a tank of gas is crossing the ridiculous line.

Here in California, they make you pay before you pump. If you drive off, you're only screwing yourself. Anyway $2.67 for 87 this morning in Fair Oaks (Sacramento). I'm starting to drive more like an old person (but not all the time...gotta have some fun).
