just got the car towed to my house today
was sitting since october and needed a battery and idle air control valve. changed them and car started right up and ran fine drove it for about 10 minutes and it was dark out so i couldnt really tell but it smelt like antifreeze and smoke was coming out infront of the headlights like you could see it there. Any idea about what i need to change the car didnt over heat or anything.

In the daylight check for leaks. Could be a hose or something else. Look for a puddle to help identify where the leak is coming from.

Check oil. Noise could possibly be coming from an exhaust leak.
Check coolant level. Did you flush the cooling system before or after you drove it for ten minutes?
Some autoparts stores loan tools. See if can get a pressure tester for the cooling system and test it to see if it holds pressure. When you say back of the engine, I am assuming you are referring to an area by the fire wall. You may have leaking heater hoses, heater core, water pump, freeze plugs.
