I got a '92 F-250 with 351 windsor 5.8L EFI that got seized, we have possible donor 302 5.0L EFI from a '96 F-150 that has a bad tranny. Question is how much work is it gonna take to swap the 302 into the F-250. Will the mounts from either truck work/transfer? will the trans bolt up to the 302 (they both have auto trans bolted to em)? how about wiring, will the harness and PCM transfer over easy?

Well I'm pretty sure 96 EFI motors were mass air (MAF) and the 92's were speed density (SD). If you do the swap, you'll need the wiring harness and computer from the donor vehicle. I believe the frame mounts are the same, as are the motor mounts, and it should bolt up to the tranny. The big issues you're going to have are with wiring and the computer, but overall it shouldn't be too bad.
I swapped over a 94' SD 300-6 for a 302 HO MAF from a 91' mustang in my truck, that was a complete chore. I needed new frame mounts motor mounts, whole new computer and wiring harness. Let me know how things go.

my only suggestion is check the oilpan make sure they are the same i hit that prob when goin from 302 to 351w pan hit the crossmember and you cant switch pans from 302 to 351 different width mounts tourqe converter & trans all the same though.
good luck

Thanks for all the info, we haven't even begun to swap engines (were slow to get working). We recently found another (but a few years older) 351W. Don't know if it runs yet but if it does we'll probably go the easy route and use it. Thanks for all the info, I'll keep you updated on what we do.

good idea the 302 is way under powered for a f250
